  • Troubleshooting boost problems

I've got a SplitSecond boost controller and I'm having problems getting it to hold boost. It'll intermittently let me get the full 14.7 psi, but most of the time I can't seem to make more than about 10 psi. This is on a 2002 1.8t Jetta. I emailed SS and they recommended checking the diverter valve and the N75 valve before sending the unit in. I had a spare DV kicking around which I switched out with no change, but I need to get a hold of an N75 valve. Does anyone have a stock one kicking around that I could borrow for about 5 mins or if anyone is willing to meet me somewhere and switch N75s for a few minutes I would really appreciate it. I live by The Brick (Centre and 16th) but would be willing to drive anywhere to meet someone. Thanks!

no, I highly doubt you need a new n75. You *might* need a new DV though, but since you changed that I wouldn't worry about it.

But you're trying to run the boost controller AND the n75? I didn't think this would work. I thought the point of the boost controller was to bypass the n75...And since you're only hitting 10psi, well that's the 'stock' boost level so I'd say your SS BC isn't doing much right now.

The SS doesn't bypass the N75. THe N75 is still required as it's what controls when the actual wastegate opens.

Anyhow, if the problem isn't with the N75, then there is something wrong with the SS. I forgot to mention that I've had that controller in there for over a year now and it has been working fine up until recently.

Thanks for all of the input guys!! =)
