Can anyone recommend a good quality quiet tire with a good ride to go on my soon-to-arrive 19's?

What are your priorities, what is your price range, and what seasons do you plan to run the tire?

If you want a summer only tire we will have much different recommendations than all season! Likewise, you should prioritize performance, noise, comfort and treadwear so we know more specifically what you're looking for... or if you are just looking for a decent tire on a budget, then we can make some good budget recommendations...

I'll only be runnin' these tires in the summer months. I'd like a tire that rides well, performs well, and also looks good on 19's. I don't imagine treadwear will be much of a factor, as I'll only be using them around 4 months a year. I'm looking around the $300ish range.

Personally I think summer only tires in Calgary is insane. We have so few good months that you'll be pining for your 19s way earlier than you expect. I'm running Pirelli PZero Nero M&S and I love them. I also don't need to worry about a little inclement weather, so I can run my 18s for a good portion of the year.

I too run these tires and enjoy them. They're a high performance all-season, so your performance wont be as good as a dedicated summer tire, but it will also still suffice in the occational spring/fall weather system.

oh, and they're cheap as hell too. (200 a piece in 225/40/18)

I run the same tires on my 18s as well. No complaints whatsoever!

I have the new Dunlop Sp Sport Maxx and I love them. Them seem quiet and the performance is awesome, they do great in the rain as well. Yesterday was the first really hard rain that I have driven them in since I got the tires and they were great. The braking actualy suprised me. I could brake hard and still didn't slide. I also drove the corners almost as fast as I drive in the dry and had no problems with hydroplaining. Put it this way I had the wippers on high and was still have a little problem seeing and I was traveling over 60mph on back roads with no sliding.

Ya, steer clear of Khumo's, if I didnt buy my rims with those meats on them I surely wouldnt be driving around on them. Dangerous as f*** on any major road in the rain..I actually know a guy who wrote off his BMW cause he couldnt brake on his shitty khumos in the rain before (its funny cause I told him how shitty they were and he shouldnt disrespect his BBS CH's with that crap)

Ive been considering buying some new tires myself, the ones in contention (and i know this applies to Mike as well) are:

                      Falken 451
                      Fusion ZRi
                      Toyo FZ4
                      Pirelli pzero m&s

Those are all in a similar price range - anyone whos running these tires wanna comment on tread ware? I figure id put 15-20k on them each summer (i drive alot heh) so want something that I can hopefully get 2 GOOD seasons out of

they dont make just pzero m&s anymore, the replacement tire is the pzero nero m&s. that being said, my brocks came with the old pzero m&s and had 1 season on them when I had them. I put another 2 summers on them after I bought them, but by the end of the summer they were pretty bald.. but I got 3 summers out of them! (then again, I didnt do 20k a summer like you james)

this spring I put on pzero nero's and an happy. the tread pattern looks more aggressive and feels the same as the pzero's did.

I went with Falken ZIEX ZE-512 ultra all season - wear has been really good (had to be since I can't rotate wheels). No complaints for cornering, wet - but they are obviously not much use in the snow.

I'm thinking of Yok ES100s when they do finally wear down.

Bart used to run FM901's I think, and I am pretty sure he liked them. Bart pushes his tires to the limit so I would say he if didn't think they sucked, then they are good tires.
