If you want a summer only tire we will have much different recommendations than all season! Likewise, you should prioritize performance, noise, comfort and treadwear so we know more specifically what you're looking for... or if you are just looking for a decent tire on a budget, then we can make some good budget recommendations...KR

Re: Tires??
I'll only be runnin' these tires in the summer months. I'd like a tire that rides well, performs well, and also looks good on 19's. I don't imagine treadwear will be much of a factor, as I'll only be using them around 4 months a year. I'm looking around the $300ish range.'02 Jetta 1.8Tuuurbo

Re: Tires??
Personally I think summer only tires in Calgary is insane. We have so few good months that you'll be pining for your 19s way earlier than you expect. I'm running Pirelli PZero Nero M&S and I love them. I also don't need to worry about a little inclement weather, so I can run my 18s for a good portion of the year.Yuval

Re: Tires??
I have the new Dunlop Sp Sport Maxx and I love them. Them seem quiet and the performance is awesome, they do great in the rain as well. Yesterday was the first really hard rain that I have driven them in since I got the tires and they were great. The braking actualy suprised me. I could brake hard and still didn't slide. I also drove the corners almost as fast as I drive in the dry and had no problems with hydroplaining. Put it this way I had the wippers on high and was still have a little problem seeing and I was traveling over 60mph on back roads with no sliding.Last edited by dubspeedGTi; 07-04-2005, 06:25 PM.2004 Reflex Silver GTi 1.8t

Re: Tires??
Ya, steer clear of Khumo's, if I didnt buy my rims with those meats on them I surely wouldnt be driving around on them. Dangerous as f*** on any major road in the rain..I actually know a guy who wrote off his BMW cause he couldnt brake on his shitty khumos in the rain before (its funny cause I told him how shitty they were and he shouldnt disrespect his BBS CH's with that crap)
Ive been considering buying some new tires myself, the ones in contention (and i know this applies to Mike as well) are:
Falken 451
Fusion ZRi
Toyo FZ4
Pirelli pzero m&s
Those are all in a similar price range - anyone whos running these tires wanna comment on tread ware? I figure id put 15-20k on them each summer (i drive alot heh) so want something that I can hopefully get 2 GOOD seasons out ofLast edited by James; 07-05-2005, 08:50 AM.REAL men use harsh language as self-defense

Re: Tires??
I went with Falken ZIEX ZE-512 ultra all season - wear has been really good (had to be since I can't rotate wheels). No complaints for cornering, wet - but they are obviously not much use in the snow.
I'm thinking of Yok ES100s when they do finally wear down.
