Nah, the douche bag wont even say where he got them because he doesnt want people to copy him...They're custom steelies made to his spec tho, Im sure there are dozens of places that could do it

Part of me wishes I wouldn't have abandoned the steelie thing. My coworker still has them but I wouldn't be able to spend the money on widening them unless I sold the phonedials.
I dont mind the idea of custom & wide steelies, but I think you can do better than those, in fact they remind me of Nascar wheels which I dont think is a good thing on a GTI.

Ya, thats exactly what I thought when I first saw them, its because he went with the "D" style holes instead of the circular ones.
If I was going custom, like I said, it'd have a polished lip and color matched centers...but this is a step in the right direction and if I hit a curb tomorrow and bent up 2 rims, Id be ALL over those (guy said it was about 500usd for the entire setup (minus tires I guess)

I think powdercoating a small circle in the very centers a different colour like silver or plat grey, but leaving the outside black would look pretty good... or polished lip... some sort of contrast.
They actually look really really good. I think the red pin stripping helps to contrast a bit but unless you are going for a stealth look a little polished lip would help.
