  • Help a brotha out

Hey Guys - Im wanting to do some DIY mod action this weekend but I cant find the guide I remember seeing on the internet.

my question: Anyone know the name of that 'tint' paint? Nightshade or something like that? I cant even find it on google or anyone know a product that will give me the same look?

Mopac has it. Just dont go to thin of coats or it will orange peel. but if you go to thick then it will run

edit: Do you think if I called Splash or Rudy's or whatever body shop they could mix me up a spray can for clear + black? Would that be a viable solution?

Call Dean's Body Shop Supply (look for number in the book)
If they don't have it in stock they will mix clear with black base and put it in the can.

Personally I like mixing my own clear with color base, good clear will give you nice high gloss shine for years (6 years on my BMW) where Nightshades tend to fade to almost dull finish pretty quick.

                          Re: Help a brotha out

Just use the Testor's and then use a good quality clear coat. I did this on my side signals, and they match the tinted grey strip on my tail lights perfectly. Go in thin coats, and keep layering it on until you hit the exact tint you want, as each coat will get darker and darker. Clearcoat it when you're done, and re-install.

PM me if you want any more details.

p.s - I bought the paint from Calgary Body Shop Supplies LTD (Formerly Dean's)...I tested it on a cd case and its really really see-thru which is perfect cause they I can choose how dark it gets by the # of coats
