I know its not a skid plate, but it would provide some protection.
I have never sintalle done but doesn't the tie bar sit behind the oil pan? I know the skid plate I have uses two of the wholes used on some tie bars. I believe an alim plate will also act as a tie bar as they are riv-nutted into the lower sub frame so it adds lots of strength to it.
