F’ing alarm went off today again, blowing fuse 21 and waking up my whole neighborhood! I am guessing it is because of the whole rain and condensation thing, I still done have my boots on the door jams and the back ones seemed to have slip back letting water in… so I am guessing it was a short, could also have been in the new door lock… well time to get it looked at AGAIN!

Re: wake up!
Maybe it's time to take your car "to the farm"
It sucks that you're having so many problems. I wish I knew how to fix them!

Re: wake up!
Well, it probably doesn't help you but MK3's are notorious for the wiring into the door being too short, so if you suspect that's your problem your best bet is to get someone that knows their way around a soldering iron (I've spent quite a few hours behind one but I sold mine ) and some extra stranded wire and just extend all of them and wrap them up really good. But don't use electrical tape, if you go to Canadian Tire or someplace you can actually get a "silicone tape" it's black, about an inch wide and stretches like a mofo. I used that when my Corrado wiring harness got wet and it never let any more water in.
Hope that helps.Jay

Re: wake up!
Silicon tape is good in a fix but the only permant good fix is glue filled heatshrink. That way there is no chance of water contamination on the solder joint and wires. I would give you a hand Russell but I now have my hands more then fullName: Brent

So just solder the joint... then cover the wire with glue... then heatshrink?2001.5 Audi S4
