    I am going to do this mod tonight... anything I should know before I go and cut the cheese ?

      haha i did this to my mk2 golf this is the ultimate ghetto mod. there wasn't an intimidating growl from the engine bay it sounded the same IMO you shouldn't do it.

          Depends on the engine/model. If its a TDI, you've already got a cold air intake, and you're probably better off "swiss cheesing" at the point of CAI (ie the snow snorkle).

          Otherwise you're just taking in hot air.

            the reason i did it was because its to be said that the engine actually has this deep growl to it. another reason why i did it was with my mk2 i was so over eager to mod i did things the fast shitty way, that includes drilling holes. you will never see the day that i drill a hole in my mk4. and yea i agree if your gonna mod your airbox just cut out the snow screen.
