  • Car broken into a second time. Need advice and a part ID.

Got to my car this morning. Lo and behold it had been broken into again. Was probably fairly easy considering I hadn't repaired the lock yet, just in case they ahd a mind ti come back. Looks like I made the right decision. Anyways, guys, I really need some advice. What can I do alarm-wise to make my car more secure? I'm incredibly frustrated right now.

Also, I found this part lying on the carpet under the steering wheel and I have no idea what it is. Can someone ID it for me?

I swear if I ever run into one of these motherfucker crack heads in my parking lot, they'll suffer.

It is? Bizarre, I wonder how it would have fallen off. Maybe my COMPLETELY OPEN change tray didn't convince them there was nothing in there. Fucking monkey crack heads. I didn't notice a gap. I'll look again.

Sorry to hear about your trouble.

This link is to a page that shows how to add a motion sensor to your factory unit. I'm not sure how well it works, but it looks legit to me. I've been toying with this idea as well. Maybe everybody could check it out and post feedback.

I park in an underground lot. I swear the street is the safest.

Unbelievable! That is so $hitty! I know what you're feeling...I had my Mustang stolen a few years ago. Found it on blocks stripped down, next to another one. Some 14yr old punk - got to find out details cuz I have relatives with the City Police.

Doesn't your car have a factory alarm? You could hook these up to the horn alarm if it has one (it would wake up a city block):

Is your car parked outside? I would really be tempted to install a camera - and then deal with it myself.

What about a cheap alarm install from Quinn? Don't they give out free install coupons like they are going out of style?

How about some of those blades that swing out from underneath the car and cut yah off at the shins when you open the door!! (saw it in some movie I think...)

Car does have a factory alarm. It's worthless.

I got my alarm at Audio Concepts mobile on 32nd. Guys were good to deal with, and did a good job installing it. I would definitely recommend them.

EDIT: The thing that sucks about alarms and MK4's is if you want the power locks integrated (whih I am sure you do) it costs a lot extra. vaggod and myself got ours installed around the same time, and my install bill was 2x what his was (he had a mk3).
