  • A-Pillar Pods

In my 02 Jetta 1.8T I have the A-Pillar air bags. They say you shouldn't put the a-pillar gauges in that place if you have those. Will they still work or is it not worth the risk?

Why do they say not to put them in there? Besides the obvious reason. Is there something going to go wrong when I try and install them in there?

k this is all i'm saying then i'm closing this thread because this comes up every 3 months and it annoys me..

42dd says that for liability reasons.. infact the airbag explosion point is about 4-6" up from the pod so you'll be fine.. if your pod is installed properly its not going to damage you.. end of story.. get one soon cuz it looks good

                Re: A-Pillar Pods

The other reason they say it is because it's important that the clip that holds the pillar on is put back properly (and locked) so the pillar doesn't fly off in a deployment and it's really complicated to explain how to remove/put it back. They don't want to be responsible for a goofball just jamming it back on, or breaking the clip and using glue or something.
