  • Studdering while shifting

In my 02 Jetta 1.8T I have the tiptronic transmission. Well I have the factory warranty and have allready had to replace the computer in the transmission. Originally it would shift really weird and hard. I brought it in and they replaced that computer. Now, it seems to be shifting harder. Are there any ideas besides going back to the dealership and having to pay a few for them just to look at it and say, "Nope, nothing is wrong with it"? That's what they told me last time and then ended up replacing that computer.

Get the technician to ride with you then reproduce the problems.

Dead/Unplugged MAF will make the tiptronic shift like a mad man.

TQ exceeded code will also make it shift harder until the car restarts.

My bad belt/water pump actually caused my higher redline shifts to limp. Very weird.
