I'm not sure exactly what/how that valve works maybe you can post some more details? Most people use a ball/spring valve or relief-type valve for MBC.

Maybe you are just setting it too aggressively.

That valve is really not very suitable since its characteristics are best at 10 bar or something like that?

Anyway that is a regulator valve as far as I can tell, I would guess maybe it is just set too far closed and under part throttle you are just boosting too much.

I'll be trying a ball/seat style valve at the meet, see how that helps....

              Hola Amigos,

Ahh good ol' MBC =) I tried every combination possible with Upsolute. Tehy tried around 3 programs for me to see if part throttle would work. They just ended up giving me a high boost program and told me NO MBC =) ... runs great but I'm thinking an EBC is the only possible solution to get part throttle limp. Get a profec spec II. Big bucks but its worth it in the end when you eventually slap on the BT =)

P.S. Anyone wanna do a EBC group buy? or a HID group buy?

                Re: MBC quirks...need help!

So far ball/seat MBC works good, a little less consistent, but ok nonetheless....If I adjust it, it feels like it makes more power at 15psi now than before, but that may be that its smoother and less hesitant than it used to be with just N75(it was bad)....I adjust up and its great, I'm gonna try turning it farther in small increments, see if I can get back up to the 19ish psi I was at....I'm alright with the ocassional limp mode, I just have to either drive it hard, or be nice, so its forcing me to be nice most of the time......Sure does get more wheelspin, and hard pull with cornering, especially 4th gear, its a beast now.....I'll try the overboost setup too, see what difference it makes.....Still have the knocking, so I'm playing nice until I can get my fueling up to par.....

                  Good Stuff,

MBC's are awesome. They let you sustain a higher boost at higher rpms. My 15 psi felt more powerful cuz it was holding all the way to 6000rpms. But with my new program it pretty much does that now with no mbc. But im gonna slap on a EBC to get my lower rpms to hold higher.

Get the Profec Spec II and just be rid of the on off feeling =)

                        Kris,

Crowchild is the highway =P jokin'..... lol. Yeah MBC's are awesome because you feel the power gain pretty quick but the part throttle is ridiculous.

Where can we get some EBC's in Calgary ? how much do they go for? $700 ?

Interesting. I might be up for a ebc group buy.

They are way too much in Calgary, I know that Contemporary quoted me an insane amount, like almost $800.

I would either pickup a Greddy Type S or Apex'i but eBay is your best bet. $275US for a Type S. Or get something used on the 'tex.

The solenoids used by some of the other companies are kinda crap, so get a good one if you're gonna do it.

$800 is more than I'm willing to spend. One of the NL guys can get a good ebc for 'bout $500. Cant remember what kind it was though.
