how often? i am thinking about ordering 4 tires... anyone else might be going anytime soon??
I get everything from ebay, vortex ect shipped to sweetgrass, i have some friend that have a po box in sweetgrass and the live in Milkriver (15min from Sweetgrass) so i just call and tell them if it is in, and they pick it up. no UPS for me
Where can i calculate shipping costs? Who's the best service to use - UPS, FedEx??? Looks like I'm going to need to get something shipped from the US so I want to try this out.

You pretty much need to use UPS for this since the depot in Sweetgrass is UPS.
You can calculate shipping costs by calling UPS with a size and weight for the package, or you can try their website (not sure about the website).
The holding cost is about $7/day I think. They accept Canadian and US dollars at the Sweetgrass depot.
Remember, it takes 6+ hours of driving to pickup the package, plus gas. And I think you need to do it during regular weekday business hours.
I would do it again but it would have to be well over $1000 in goods.
I think that there is a FedEx warehouse in Sweetgrass too. I thought I was going to have to go there this week to pick up a package that would not have cleared customs in time for when I needed it.
They are only open suring the week, as I had phone down there to check.
I think that for US domestic shipments that UPS is slightly cheaper but most companied will have a rate calculator on thier web sites.
I've got this Friday off work so if I can swing it, I'm going to try and get it done then. I guess it all depends on how quick I can get stuff shipped there from Michigan.
I had my wheels shipped DHL to the UPS Supply Chain address, they went across the street to the post office and got them. I think my 4 wheels with tires cost $5 to hold for the day.
Ok, this is weird... when I calculate the shipping costs to Sweetgrass it's actually considerably higher than shipping it directly to my house. Is that just the way it is? Or what could I possibly be doing wrong? I filled out the forms online at UPS.com identically other than the address it was being shipped to.
I might be retarded. In which case, do I qualify for some sort of handicapped discount?

You must be doing it wrong? Because it was super cheap for me to ship to sweetgrass... maybe call UPS and ask? Make sure you are shipping via UPS ground. If you are choosing a method via Air -- there is no airport in Sweetgrass, so they will charge you extra to fly it to Butte or something, then re-route it.
I just wanted to give my 2 cents on the whole 'shipping to Sweetgrass' thing. I recently ordered some coils for the S4 and they were on sale with shipping included anywhere in the US....the perfect opportunity to use the UPS warehouse in Sweetgrass. First off, I was quoted $182 for shipping from the place where I bought the parts plus god knows how much in brokerage and duty.
The whole process was very simple; tell the shipper to ship to the UPS warehouse address (no need to call them either, which is nice), and then simply wait for the package to arrive (using your tracking number of course).
I left on Monday morning at 5:30am from the SE (Cranston) and arrived at the border at about 8:15am (then proceeded to have my car searched, mainly because it was September 11th). It took all of 5 minutes and $3 CND to get my package from the UPS warehouse, then I was on my way back to the border again. Told the officer what I was doing, showed them the receipt, payed the 6% duty ($72.41), and I was on my way back home.
In total, the trip took 5h 38m and 624km (on one tank I might add), and only cost $75.41 plus a tank of premium gas (~$50). It was extremely easy and saved alot of money, but I think would only be worth it on bigger packages (my coils were in a huge box and weighed about 60lbs).
Just for those who were/are thinking about doing this, it is worth it, but only on larger items like I said
