I'm getting my 2.5inch GHL downpipe today, now the question is should I attempt to install it myself or should I take it somewhere? Anyone done a downpipe install before?

Very easy to do it yourself! The only potential pain in the arse is mating it to your existing cat-back.1.8T
Not quite stock anymore...

Yeah, and you have to, *cough*, modify some of your heat shields to prevent rubbing....I also hope you got a poly dogbone mount....2006 Colorado Xtreme | AEM CAI | Walker exhaust | smoked glass | -1" dropped rear | Avic D3 | 8000K HID's

Re: Downpipe install...
Well, I decided to go the safe route and get the downpipe installed. I went to Dubsport (Darsh) and got it done. They did very nice work and I got to stand and watch while they did it. The guys there are great and very friendly, and only charged me an hour labour even though the install was probably about 1.5 hours.
As for the review, I must say I'm VERY impressed! First thing I noticed is that the car is MUCH smoother. Boost comes on very nicely and surging is now pretty well non-exsistant. The car is definitely making more power as it seems to break the tires loose a lot more frequently now and up top its pulling much harder. I can't wait to get my 4bar FPR now so I can upgrade my Revo to stage 2!Last edited by VRado6; 05-26-2005, 04:18 PM.Mike - 2011 A4 S-Line

Re: Downpipe install...
No rubbing or CELs yet. The did have to tweak the heatsheild a little bit to get some clearence, but that was very minor. I got the DP from autobraun ( www.autobraun.com ) for $475.Mike - 2011 A4 S-Line
