****, what a dissapointment! I decided it was time to take an afternoon off and give Babette a thorough scrubbing. I have a lot of sap stains on my car from where I park at work so I picked up Turtlewax Bug/Tar/Sap remover. Junk. Did absolutely nothing. So I returned it and picked up Mother's clay bar kit. I thought salvation had finally come and got into it. Imagine my dissapointment when the clay bar did absolutely nothing. I wetted and scrubbed, wetted and scrubbed, over and over with no success whatsoever. Worthless. After an hour of that I gave up and just went ahead and waxed the whole car with zymol. Interestingly enough, I got a few small spots of sap off with the zymol. Anyways, don't believe the hype. Nothing removes sap. :(

Re: Clay bars are worthless
Hmm, I'd have to disagree with you....Clay bar is truly one of the best things to do to your car's finish....Why it didn't work well for you, well there's any number of reasons for this, how long were the water spots there?? The bad thing about water spots is they are generally not surface stains at all. Water, when on a surface such as your car (especially black!!), work like a magnifying glass for the sun. The water contains certain impurities, plus the environmental impurities. It sits, and actually bakes into the paint, causing an actual pit in the paint....Unfortunate, but true.....Clay bar works great for removing surface crud, but it doesn't "smooth over paint" like a light wet sand and polish will.......Another reason to always have your car waxed to the nuts, and to hand dry after every wash...no excuses!2006 Colorado Xtreme | AEM CAI | Walker exhaust | smoked glass | -1" dropped rear | Avic D3 | 8000K HID's

Re: Clay bars are worthless
I may have to get the roof wet sanded and polished then (any recommendations for where to go?). They're not water stains. Rather, they're little raised areas where sap once landed. That ****'s the bane of my existence.Yuval

Re: Clay bars are worthless
Diesel fuel works well for sap, but the true best thing is Spray 9....You spray it on and it melts it away...I used to spray my Grand Am, it was white, and it would turn yellowy brown because of the sap running off of it.....2006 Colorado Xtreme | AEM CAI | Walker exhaust | smoked glass | -1" dropped rear | Avic D3 | 8000K HID's
