Also, if I import salvage, does duty/tax apply to it?

They are in BC so you don't have to worry about importing. They have no issues shipping to Calgary (I have talked to them a couple times).

and as much as I try not to bash businesses on forums, unless you know EXACTLY what you need, and want to pay too much for it and probably be treated like you are stupid and worthless, I would avoid Montgomery. But then again, I'm not sure what you need, if it's something simple you might be ok. But don't trust them to know if something will fit or not, even if they do, they probably won't tell you.

Yea, then no (not Montgomery), they will bend you over.....and that's the nicest way I know how to put it. But then again, it might cost a lot to ship that kind of stuff. Good luck.

There is also Black Gold in Nisku that has some VW stuff. Look at their new arrival section & they have some VR6's & 1.8T's plus a 2004 TT.

I would say their prices are about average to a bit high you have to dicker with them a bit. One thing is though if you order 1/4 of a car from them make sure they send you the right side!!!
They have had a 1.8t motor and everything you need on their site for a long time at 4500$ so you maybe able to bring that down a bit.

$4500 is too much for the complete engine I think!

You should definitely make it a long negotiation process. Talk to them and make it clear what you think its worth - maybe half what they're asking... keep coming back day after day and looking at it and dickering over your price.

I would most likely be willing to pay something like 3000 for it, because I have found that 2500 US seems to be the going rate for engines, but right now I am looking at a 24v vr6 with a 6 speed transmission from a guy in florida. But not having to have it shipped would be a definite plus.
