Nice work Peter, he probably was not trying! J/K your car is pretty fast! And I think my BDay is before yours so......

Yea.. those new e46's are quick buggers. I raced my Dad's 540 in my GLI, and although he was quicker, he was actually suprised that I was able to keep up with the V8....

I was able to test drive an M5 last year, that thing was insane. So much fun to drive, and an absolute MONSTER

I'm not sure... but they're pricey. If you could find a decent used one, I would think around 50k, non-cabrio.

I love the new M3, but my personal fave is still the original e30. So light and so clean-looking. Aw man, now I just drooled on the key board :(

My dad and I test drove a 2001 M3 in September. Calgary BMW was asking $69, 900 for it and it was in perfect condition. It was also one of the most thrilling test drives I had ever been on... until we took out an M5.

There's also a brand new silver M3 up at Crowfoot BMW (went to go check out the new dealership yesterday). It's got the optional 19" rims - friggin amazing looking, and from what I could tell, it had SMG (I was staring at it through the window so it was kinda hard to see inside of it).

A K-04 package for your car will make that stock M3 dude feel sorry of paying that much of money. Power to weight ratio is a biggest benefit for your car only if modification performed, and proper suspension set up will let you gain time on corners. The truth is when come to straight road then the big hp car can pass you but if you have proper suspension set up then you can pass them on corners.

I think it would take a little more then a K04 to run with an M3...

umm... the e46 always has an advatage with rear wheel drive.

Any given car is depends on how the driver to control. Let say a novice racer on his/her newest light-weighted M3 in this example. If he/she doesn't have the skills then the expensive car is useless. The competitor car has 50hp more than the car I drive doesn't mean I cannot win on a race. Don't hate your car if you loose on a race all you need is racing with attitude.
