  • Spit and Polish

I have had my car for over a week (9 days) now and I think I have washed it 5 times. It has some 3M protectant coating on it from NL, it has kind of an oily texture to it but the car is shiny. Last night I washed it again but this time I used some Meguiar's polish product, now I have used this stuff before on a white car and it smartened it up some but on a black car ... holy sh*t. I had to stand in the garage and stare at the car, it made the paint look so deep and black. I was standing there like a deer in the head lights in amazement. No, .. I was not smoking any recreational pharmaceuticals, however the fumes from the product may have had a euphoric effect on me. I know you guys have beat this topic to death but I can't believe the change in one coat of this stuff on my paint. (I did a search before I posted) I can see why some of you swear by this stuff.

Which product is it exactly? I need to get all those small streaks and swirls out of my black beauty!

my paint is completely shot and McGuires NXT wax was the shizit for the paint!
Although I need to get off my ass and give it a full waxing again :( I can never get the motivation until after I do some modding..Need to get that kit on!

Black car always looks better than any other colour right after you clean it, then as soon as you pull out of the driveway it starts to look dirty

I almost always use the Meguiar's swirl remover with my 10" polisher, followed by a quick glaze and some NXT wax.

It is on my workbench in my garage right now I don't remember exactly what it is. I have had it for sometime now (years). Not much swirl going on with this stuff, I did it with elbow grease too. No fancy girly electric buffer for me Actually I had an electric buffer but I have not seen it since I moved here, my brother probably jacked it from me. Come to think of it, ... I think I jacked that Meguiar's from him

My car looks like this now too.

NXT is some wicked stuff. I use that on my other car, and I can see why some people swear by it!

YEAH!!! That's what mine will look like . . . when it stops raining. I swear I'm going to have to build an arc like Moses soon. Does Meguiars make arc polish?

That didn't even occur to me until I already had my car. Suddenly I remember all the time I spent laughing at an obsessive Corvette owner I knew and his attempts to keep his dark paint all shiny and clean. Now I just wish I'd spent more time paying attention to his technique and less time thinking of subtle yet witty insults.

I've got to get this waxing business figured out. I'd rent Karate Kid again but I just don't think Miyagi's car looked all that hot when Daniel was finished with it.
