When I got my car it came with a Viper aftermarket alarm system… Today I walked out to my car and I could not get any signal, rather then playing around with it I just left for work with my dad. So here are my questions:

1)Can I out the door with the key and not have my alarm go off?
2)Any ideas of why it would not be work, yes I did check the battery in the control
3)Would it be my car battery?

It's possible your car battery is dead (unlikely) but you could just see if the little red lights by your door locks are still working.

Also, on the factory alarm when you used your key (to unlock or lock) that would disable the alarm, with any luck they hooked it up similar.

My suggestion might be, try and unlock it with the key and have a Cresent wrench handy to disconect the battery in case it does go off then try and troubleshoot it. At least you're in the car.

Edit: Oh yea, and Mods might want to move this to the lounge or General (Russell this is the Classifieds )

If my alarm is armed, and I open it with the factory key, the door will open of course, but the alarm does go off. Happened a couple of times when I left the alarm fob in the car (but always have the key).

I have been told that my alarm lost its coding, so now I have to get into my car and try and switch it all of.

Just grab a cresent wrench, open up the door pop the hood and disconnect the battery. It sounds easy but when the alarm is freaking out it takes some concentration! haha.
