Converting Single - Double Din

Hey Guys -
A bud of mine just bought a phatbox for his 00 jetta, he has non-monsoon, had a 6-disc in the back before..so theres no front load on his deck.

I've got a double din radio we could toss in his car and I was wondering how much effort is involved?

AFAIK the connector on the back of the DD is different than the SD...

no it won't work james.. the single and DD are way differnet as far as connectors go.. the single uses 3 separate and the DD just 1 big one.. and for the swap all the functions don't work properly since the DD is primarily canbus controlled.. he can however buy a single din slot load (oem) from vortex or dealer or buy the indash 6changer (slot load) but its kinda pricey

Ha - I'd rather have the single din than the double since you don't need cd player when you have phat-box-goodness, and you still have space for guages. I have the double and I still give the tape deck the evil eye.

Phatbox does work with single DIN.
