Nismo you know where to message me if you still needs to borrow them.

Re: Need to borrow: Strut tool

hey guys, thanks to stonewall and gaffer for offering up the tools but I really didn't need it. Tell you the truth, I'm not sure why its such a big deal, my install went flawless without it, the old stuff popped right out after some banging and the new stuff slid right in with no problems.
I kind of got delayed on the whole install. I started it on Saturday and finished the rears without any air tools. Went to go pick up the impact from my uncles house but he had locked up his tool box...so that meant no tools for me. Install without air tools would have been tedious so I had to wait until my uncle came back today (Monday) and then complete the front.
Also..the passenger side wasn't hard at all. I'm not sure why people talk about having to remove driveshafts, or drop the subframe or make room in there or anything. All I did was wedge a piece of wood underneath the strut, push up as hard as freaking possible and that gave enough room for it to pop out, took like 30 seconds max.
Overall the install went smooth and I'm happy with the end result.

Glad to hear it went well. I found coiling the spring down around the strut also helps make room on the passenger side, it takes a bit of work but easier then dropping the sub frame.

Holy Mr. Brent, I was not "ragging" on the way you "do it", I was simply stating in a few less words that sometimes fancy pants expensive tools are overkill for certain things. If I was building up an engine then yes, but it's suspension, big metal parts that you have to bang on. I was simply providing Nismodrifter with my opinion on what is needed and that it's a much simpler process than people make it seem (special tool this, fancy pants wrench that, etc.). It's ok, really.

            Seacrest out!

I'm glad your install went good, you'll give some updated pics, or better yet, come to the meet on Thursday!

Edit: just saw your other post with the pics, but you should still make a meet.
