I have seen this stuff take some good hits from stones that would have damaged paint. I say it is good stuff but a bra would be best for the winter.

3m is pretty good, does the same thing as a bra except doesnt look shitty!
I've got it on my car, its funny the comments you get 'Ooohh, look at that scratch!!'

i never had it before but if your gonna drive yoru car in winter i'd say get it for sure.. especially if the 229 is added onto your final invoice and your doing monthly payments over a few years thats like 5 bucks a month no biggie
I think the 3M is really good stuff, it has saved my hood and grill plenty of times. I was able to get it added to the invoice of the car which ended up being like $3.50/month, so if you could swing that I say go for it!
i'd really recommend putting some on your lights too.. the bad thinig about lights is you have peel it off every 3 months and reapply it but at least they won't pit up all hardcore..
I had it on my last jetta and wouldn't do it again. I'd rather have a few chips than an obvious huge section of clear tape on my front end. It looks like ass and doesn't last. As mentioned, it might be worth getting it on your headlights though.
I have 3m on my car hood, back of mirrors and front fenders, defently has taking some good rocks thrown at it, looks good on cars that are lighter in color and you can notice the line when the car is dusty, I would way rather have it then a bra, the color fades where the bra isn't and it eventaly scratches the paint
I've had mine for 3 years, and am about ready to take it off. It did it's job IMO. But as Kris said I wouldn't do the hood next time - easy to re-spray and it's the only obvious line, especially on my dark car. Definately do the bumper, stock grill if you're keeping it cause those look terrible once dented.
