  • Getting a paint job

Well as I will be picking up my golf hood next week and I found a guy to paint my car (i think) I have started to think about colours. From what I understand he can change the colour of my minus the engine bay. I personal like green, but with so many different colours to pick from I was wonder: if you could have any colour of car what would it be?

    This would be my picks:

I wouldn't change up the color much... keep it green, but get them to add some gold to it or something.

2 tone it baby. Stock color half, then some other color on the other half. That way it matches in the engine bay etc.

That 2 tone looks good. Honestly, you have a Windsor Blue VR6 car, those are "coveted" among some people. My personal opinion would be that you'd be doing a disservice to your car from changing it from a Windsor blue to a green. Also, from my experience of having over 1/2 my car resprayed, I wouldn't respray unless you absolutely have to. A respray, unless it's done EXTREMELY well, will never look as good as the factory paint (and by "extremely" I mean spending thousands).

But like Kris said, if you went 2 tone you could keep the engine bay the "lower" colour and it would be ok. But I would just keep it Windsor and spend that money on suspension, your front conversion, etc.

Yea when I had my mk2 repainted the paint looked decenent, the real crappy thing was it flaked a little in the hatch and under the hood
