Anybody using a 2.0 Maf on a TDI?

As title says, is anyone using a 2.0 Maf on a TDI?
Performance/mpg the same?
Any noticable difference between the two?
Have you noticed excessive smoke?
Overall woudl you guys say go ahead and use one or spend the extra $ and get a TDI maf?

Info will be appreciated.

I only paid $100 for my MAF so I wouldn't say it is worth the hassel.

2.0 Maf is supposed to be a direct fit for TDI's. Apparently it makes the car faster too (according to people on tdi club).

Montgomery auto parts, but you may have to weasel them a bit to get that price. You can look around the TDI club too they have some good prices.

vw extended the maf warranty, its like doubled so, maybe try getting one for free first.

pretty sure there was a price drop on the tdi maf awhile ago. it's like $60 or so now

I'm using a 2.0L MAF, works great, same part number as the one I removed, no difference than the original in the way of power.

Nope. Mine dosent smoke unless I'm on it hard, and it didn't change from the old MAF

The TDI maf price did drop. The difference between the 2.0 and the TDI is that the TDI one actually senses back flow when decelerating and prevents it from smoking too much. So it actually senses air flow in both directions, where as the 2.0 does not. Does it make a difference which one you use... No! I have never seen more smoke OR more power when it is switched out for a 2.0 one.

The warranty for the MAFs is now 7 years or 115,000km. I had mone done a month or so ago.
