  • Where to do exhaust install?

My shiny new autotech cat back has arrived and I was wondering where you guys recommend to have it installed? I would have asked Dave to do it but that's no longer an option, with DnF being down and out.

i've done 2 exhaust installs with them, price is good for the quality of work. the guys are soooo sketchy though i hung around in the office and watched the whole install just to be safe.

I have only heard 100% good things about them, don't think I've ever heard a bad review of the place, has been recommended by a lot of people

Hmmm okay, wasn't going to go to a standard muffler shop but if they're recommended, I'll certainly consider it. Thanks guys.

Sometimes it seems the sketchier looking the muffler shops are the better.

The muffler shop I go to is in Forest Lawn. They do really good work, sure the front entrance isn't all purty and whatnot but I go for the talent, not the atmospere

They've done some pretty crazy exhausts, from a lambo, to lexus, to some Custom Hot Rods (World of Wheels), to my busted arse golf, scirocco and Corrado.

But yea, i've heard Calgary muffler is pretty good too (no experience though).

are you talking about minute muffler, its like 52nd st and 17 ave or something? ya i went there a few years back with my dads car, great work, and cheap too! i think every minute muffler has its own rules and prices and stuff, they're not all universal, that one has tons of pics of customer cars on the walls and the work they do!!

That's the one, Minute muffler, yea I'm sure they are all independantly owned, so because one's good doesn't mean another one is (same can be said for Apollo muffler, some of them are terrible).

I've flipped through those pictures they have there a few times now. They always put my car up right away if they figure it's not gonna be a big job.

I found out about the place when Simon got his Cat changed, I've since used it much more than him, heh.

o yea i'd give them a good review, they did a great job installing my exhaust's. real clean welds!! and the price was great. just the impression i got when i dropped it off was, do i really wasnt to leave my can in their hands? but they did a great job and they actually respect customer cars.

Definitely either the Carline/Calgary near Chinook, or the Forrest Lawn guys.

Some advice for all muffler installs, let them know exactly how you want the tips of the muffler to hang before they start. Maybe hold the pipes in place while the car is on the hoist or something. There are several dimensions they can adjust such as how high/low or how much they stick out.

Thanks guys. I need to pick up an OEM cut-out rear valence for the tips to poke through, and will remember to be clear about how I want the tips to look. Looks like I'll try out the place by Chinook.
