C1 is 90/hr and I'd like to do 1 more run to finish off my evoluition of charts - if anyone wants to split an hour, let me know. I'm still up for a new place, but I need this one to get a final comparison from my other 3.
ahah c1 dyno, please no joking! if you want high numbers, come to my place, i make you a graph in excel for half that price
Well considering I have 3 previous dynos, I hope your graph can tell me total gains from my stock baseline and each subsequent one.
For the last time, the actual numbers don't mean **** (and neither do your low ones) the only thing that matters is the difference between.
So if anyone else has several c1 dynos that they'd like to see another read or comparison before moving to the mustang dyno, let me know. (Then you could say "pulled 180 on dynojet, 160 on mustang, or whatever).
Plain simple boltons thats it I guess C1 might be ok, if your not intending to go bigger turbo. If I ran a high boost (soon) I would really like to know if im at 12.5 near the redline... but hey you can use a stencil and close your eyes.
Dyno with A/F and HP is needed. I go to A&W and buy a hamburger I expect a patty with it? True? No? If I dont get one then usually I will bad mouth the place. Its expected. Which many people on NVD did.
"Why not use a different dyno to compare?" Exactly. Do you believe every dyno that manufactuers make? Autotech CAI +10 HP. Dont think so... so you search vortex and look at examples.
" For the last time, the actual numbers don't mean **** " exactly.
" the only thing that matters is the difference between " so the previous #'s matter? little confused with this statement.
" (Then you could say "pulled 180 on dynojet, 160 on mustang, or whatever). " Of course everyone will have a bias but just solely sticking to c1's dyno with almost everyone disagreeing should put up warning signs.
Not sure why you dont want to test out another dyno? Its fun to see and try to eliminate the kinks during tuning, but im sure your 100% confident in C1.
Not here to start an argument.... Just want this performance thread to get busier =)
I just got my 8th version from Simon and the boost is holding higher to redline.....where did this new power come from.... little worried about the A/F and how do we get that children? YAY a dyno with A/F chart!
So let's suppose I go to Techmotion and I run, say 170/220. What does that mean? What have I gained with all the mods I've done since 03/04/04? Unless your baseline and your history match, you're throwing it all in the garbage. Even assuming C1 is 20 high (or 20 low, or whatever) it doesn't matter as long as you're consistant as possible. This means same wheels, try and go on the same month with similar temps, same gas, etc.
I have no problem running a different dyno. I'm planning on trying it out, to see what the difference is and how my car compares to the others. But it will be meaningless to me until some history is built up. The only use it will be is comparing with other cars with similar mods, but again what good is that? Wow I'm 20hp over Ryan's car but what does that mean aside from bragging rights? So Bart can feel good about his diesel? Cars are different from the factory to begin with.
PPS - Just to be clear. The total number - 180/220, or 220/270 doesn't matter at all. It's the difference between 1 run of 180 and another of 190 (or 220 and 230).
Geoff, I think what a couple the guys are saying is that C1 is still not "consistant", garnering different numbers from nearly identical runs with no change in mods....nobody is faulting you for wanting consistancy, but you truly will not get it at C1...and I agree with this....

Yah and I'm calling BS on that. Some people had crappy incomplete runs, and others didn't get AF charts - and I don't blame them for being pissed. But I challenge anyone who ran multiple runs in a day and got truly different results. Miscalibrated for the altitude, probably. But as I've said many times - it's a Dynojet, not something you can just make give artificial numbers at will.
As someone who attended almost all of the dyno days, I can say the only time people were really bitching was the last one. The ones before that, everyone seemed happy with their numbers etc. Ryan was way low, but of course his samco fell off.
Also, the whole business about no AF - the previous dyno thread said "The C1 wideband O2 sensor was BUSTED on one of the days we went". It also said Qua was refunded money for the incomplete run. Alex ran the 91 octane APR trial on 89 safeway, so of course his numbers were low, and Chad ran three runs back to back on a hot engine. No one complained on the first day with Peter, and I seem to recall everyone was pleased with the 2nd day.
Unless you can actually show a few good examples of invalid results, it's nothing more than mudslinging at a sponsor, which is pretty pathetic (bart).
Bart has a right to be pissed, would you pay full price for 1/2 the data?

Hmmm maybe they have the money for me at C1. They havent refunded me yet... but I'll ask them for my cash.
Thanks,
QuA
