"Comfort" Seat Recall

[T is for Turbo]

anyone else get the recall for the heated seats?? got mine on monday. it says that they only have enough parts for just the driver side seat, but will send another letter when they have sufficient parts for the passenger side.

i think i'm gonna wait till they have parts for both seats before i get them fixed (i just hope they don't say thats its not covered cuz i'm chipped!!).

Me neither. Mine have always worked perfectly, and I use them a lot. Most people who end up having problems have said that their heaters don't seem to do anything until they bump them to 5.

^yay that sounds like mine, I get no real feeling of warmth until its cranked. Leave it on 5 for a while then basically just turn it off because the other numbers do nothing.

Buddy at work was just tellin' me he got a recall for his hazard switch (2000-2002)..I havent got either and I roll a 2002

Hrm 02 for me, heated leather seats are 5 then I turn them off. No letter though.

I thought the heated seat recall was for 1999 - 2000?

Nope it is for 1999-2004 models

Buddy at work was just tellin' me he got a recall for his hazard switch (2000-2002)..I havent got either and I roll a 2002

haven't got the hazard switch one yet....but i have a feeling that i should be expecting it soon...

yeah! its because of me! lol no but i was the only one i knew of in calgary to have this happen. and my car is a 03. we phoned volkswagen of Canada/America to complain to. just make sure they at least unhook the switch for the seats if the parts are on order (they didnt do that for mine and it caught fire as i left the dealer parking lot)

Oh my Gawd, That is nasty! At least you were leaving the dealer parking lot so you could say Hello my SEATS. My car is an 03 and I got it in for the seat recall because it was in the Victoria BC Newspaper called the Times Colonist and my Mom saw the article and cut it out for me.

I have an '03 and I use my heated seats all the time... I really don't want them to catch fire. (However brand new leather in the front would be sweet)
