  • Car overheating??

Well this is new. About an hour ago, I had stopped to pick up my gf from work and I noticed my car felt a bit sluggish, like the turbo wasn't working. I looked down and my temperature gauge was a couple ticks over center. I drove off and monitored it and it started to climb even higher, so I blasted the heat and opened the windows, and it dropped back down, but it still felt really sluggish. After parking for about 10 minutes and driving off it seemed normal again. I'm planning on taking it back to SCFC tomorrow morning. Anyone have any ideas? I have plenty of coolant...

Well, you can check your oil, since that is easy.

Can also VAG-COM it if you have one.

If you can make it to Krispy Kreme someone might bring a VAG COM. Sadly, I still don't have a laptop and I think Bart still has my cable, so I am no help.

Thanks Kris, but I don't want to drive it more than I have to right now. Some guys on the VWV 1.8T forum suggested it might be the water pump so I'll point that out tomorrow. Eat a disgusting donut for me.

Turned out to be a faulty temp sensor (apparently). The car only has 38k clicks.
