You can do 18s on a MK3 but if you are going to run 18x8s you will have a lot of issues depending on the drop and such. I rubbed with 17x7.5, rolled fenders and coils so this would be a rubfest!

Yea, 18's are really big. Those polished Avus (I think that's what they're called) aren't bad, but unless you go really low I think you'll wish you would have bought bigger wheels.
The one's Ryan posted are cool but I saw they are offset 62!! You'll need custom adapters (over 30mil) or run like some guys on vortex do with 25mil adapters and 10mil or 15mil spacers (which I personally think is suicide). I almost hate to say it but if you look at some of the pic posts on the mk3 forum on Vortex there is really diverse tastes on there and you could get some ideas of what you think looks good. There's everything from Volk, to Boyd's, to BBS, to custom chevy steelies with chrome caps.
If you like the "Racer" style, check out Volk, or Flik, and of course it's hard to go wrong with BBS. Did you se the 17" RC's on vwdov?
