    Re: PhatBox Reviws....

Doesn't Pioneer have a headunit pre-wired for the IPod? Maybe I'm mistaken, I believe it was that brand. Or maybe it was XM Sat. Radio.

Heres a stupid question, but how do you operate the phatbox? Is it run through your existing head unit? Or is there a seperate remote?

Phatbox uses your stock headunit. It is controlled by the 1-6 buttons and the skip buttons.

Well my main reason for the sony was playing mp3 cds (650 megs of mp3s lasts me for a month). I love the stock night look, and using my wheel controls, I just couldn't stand only playing normal cds. I'm really thinking about going back to stock double din and using a phat for the mp3s. Sony can go in the supra or be sold...

Of course if I go back to double din stock, I can't get my 3 vdo gauge setup. Decisions decisions...Argh. :P

              Re: PhatBox Reviws....

I bought an iPod a few months ago, and was considering getting the adapter that would let me hook it up to my Golf. But having to remember to remove the iPod every time I left the car seemed like a pain. Enter PhatBox.

Thanks to Tintin I have just about the cleanest install you could imagine, no hacksaw needed (phew).

The software is a bit of a pain, but if you stay on top of the ID3 tags on your digital music collection, and put some thought into designing your playlists, you'll probably never want to get out of your car (unless you've got an iPod to keep you company while you're on foot).

Bottom line: My black 2000 now talks to me. I've been watching a lot of Knight Rider lately, people, and you can't imagine how much this new development with my car delights me.

PhatBoxed so it talks to me. Yes, I call it K.I.T.T.
