      Re: Aftermarket Stereos

you'll probably find it somewhere on vortex, but the accessory wire needs to be tapped out of the fuse panel, can't remember which one. The visions person should be able to figure that out, or search vwvortex.com.
If the car has CAN bus, the wiring adapter for it will not have the wires in it.
      - when scanning car there will be a no communications with radio error logged.
      - if the car has a K-wire then you would have to cut it from the adapter.

All the dealer can do is refuse to connect the car to diagnostic equipment if there is an aftermarket stereo - no service since they need a connection.

you should be able to pull the stereo for them when taking it in for service, or have some sort of proof showing there isn't a problem with wiring. Maybe buy a VAG tool for yourself so you can prove to the dealer it's safe.

No matter what someone says it's your problem not the dealer's. A car was designed a certain way, if you alter it and the dealer doesn't know, things are going to go wrong. Some dealers will be more leniant than others, so like ...la femme says take it elsewhere.
