  • Thinking About Suspension

I am looking to get a better suspension for my car. I am currently running the stock non-sport suspension. I was thinking HR Shocks and Bilsteins struts, but if you guys can recommend a better setup I would open for input. I am only looking for a small drop in ride hieght and don't want to spend an arm and a leg on coilovers.

    Thanks
    Bryce

Or look at the Autotech for a little less coin.

I've been rockin the FK cupkit for a couple weeks now and I love the amount of drop I got out of it, ride is stiffer but not painfully stiff

j: ^you haven't rubbed your sway at all even after settling?? got so much mixed info from various sources, now I'm wishing I went with the 55.

Im still rollin' on the 15s until tomorrow morning so maybe it will change with the 18s but hardly any rubbin'.

I think I rubbed twice on the same speedbump but Ive been rockin out to Queens way too hard since the concert and may have just heard things.

Ill keep those endlinks in mind if I start rubbin after the wheel swap, Kris!

                  Re: Thinking About Suspension

The rubbing this is a real pain in the ass. I heard rubbing a few weeks ago when turning into a parking spot and a few more times that day, but haven't heard it since. It sounded like the inside of my tire rubbing against the fender well but I wonder if I was rubbing on the sway bar. I may need end links yet. When I pick my exhaust up from Simon we'll have to take a peek.

Def. consider the Autotech from Simon. It's a really good price too.

                      Re: Thinking About Suspension

If its just the front fenders hitting at full-turn, you can:

                      - learn not to turn that much
                      - roll them (its not expensive)
                      - let some air out of your tires
                      - get some tires with more stretch

My car is pretty low, and I run 19's with some of the biggest sidewalls available on a 235 tire, and can't rub at full-turns in the front. So I am always surprised when people say they are rubbing!

I do sometimes rub in the back with 2+ people in the back seat.

That's why I think it may be the swaybar rubbing rather than the inside fender well. With the same wheels and same size tires, I never rubbed in this car even when slammed on coil-overs.
