    What Oil do you use?

    Ok The guys over on the VWDOV board Vancouver Island section are arguing over engine oil Synthetic or Regular engine oil. They were saying that Synthetic can gum up your engine.

    What is your take on the topic?

    no they are on crack

    the regular non synthetic oils caused the oil sludge issue from a few months ago.. synthetic oil is good just expensive.. get the dealer recommended castrol syntec 5/40 if your a 1.8t and you'll be fine

      I use Synthetic oil in my golf so they had me so freaked out for a bit. Thanks Ryan for letting me know what what.

        Sythetic is fine it prevents wear from cold start ups and normal wear also I'm a H.D. tech so I might know if it is good or not. I've ran 5w40 in my car since new and it is a 1.8T.
