  • Where do you buy Tires?

Where do you buy your tires from and Why?

Are they special for just the look or what?

In Calgary there is a place called My Tires which is awesome, just a small business run by a guy who would rather sell lots of wheels at low prices rather than a few at high prices.

The 2nd best source is online, 1010tires was awesome when I ordered from them.

Generally most of us pick our tires up front based on what we want from them (racing performance, comfort, noise, etc) and then we find the best price. Remember if you order tires online you need to pay shipping and a shop to mount them on wheels. However, its still sometimes cheaper.

I highly recommend AGAINST going to major brand-name or chain tire/wheel shops. They are very shady and basically make up prices based on what they think you will pay. They also over-charge by a lot!

      Thanks Kris,
I am lucky because my Mom works at a Tire Store so I usually get a deal on my tires. I just bought two Kuhmo tires because the tires my car came with are shot. I'm going in tomorrow to get the other 2 so I have 4 new ones. When it gets closer to fall I want to buy some good Winter tires for there. I'm looking for comfort, reliability, and noise. i hate hearing tire noise drives me batty.

if you know what kind of tires, you can also try www.tiretrends.ca, they are in canada, and shipping like like $10 a tire. i've ordered from there before. www.tirerack.com sometimes sells for so cheap, that if you really want that tire, its cheaper to order from the US after shipping and taxes.

If you hate tire noise you may want to stay away from Kumho...

I had Marshalls before on my ford escort(before I bought my Golf) no problems and my Mom Recommends the Kumhos so it will be ok. Once I can afford better tires I'll buy some.

WOW the prices are good at the Tire rack site.

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it.
