It's been done but the gains are pretty much useless.

I'd say you'd be better off getting the usual Intake, header(if available) and exhaust. I hear that these VW 2.0L respond well to cams as well.

If you've got the cash, that neuspeed supercharger is supposed to work quite well.

Simon at Upsolute can do a chip on a 2.0, but I think the website says a 10hp gain, so it is nothing compared to the the turbo chips.

having owned a 2.0, and spend a bit on mods, i know a bit about modding them. first of all, the chip raises the rev limit a bit and i think around 8-10 hp. hardly noticeable really, but i would suggest doing it because they are really cheap compared to other engine chips. about half the price of the rest of them.

i suggest getting an aftermarket camshaft, i had one in my 2.0 and it really changes the engine feel.

I agree with what has been said about chipping a normally aspirated car. I have yet to experience a chipped 2.0 to comment first hand but we only rate the increase at 10hp. We do rate the torque to increase from 125 to 148 ft lbs which is more significant.

What may be of more use to you is that we can do a custom chip. If you do some other mods to your car and get it dyno'ed with a wide range air/fuel sensor we can get you a custom program written.

GIAC has a number of chip programs for major Cam producers, if you can get a cam and a matching chip you'll be golden!

With an all motor car, it's one of those things that you won't really notice by the seat-of-the-pants dyno, but all the little bolt ons all add up. I'd giver I guess.

                    ive heard that a chip/intake/exhaust/cam in a 2.0 keeps up with a stock 150hp 1.8t.
