  • Info on S/C

Hey Guys - A buddy at work has decided to keep his 2.0 jetta and is thinkin about supercharging it, I dont really know anything about the 2 liter but I know neuspeed is pretty much the only kit avail. Anyone know where the best place to order the kit would be? Anything to watch out for?

He's got some mechanical knowledge and would like to try install it himself, is it worth a shot or is it gonna be tough?

    thanks

I started down this road before I decided to trade in my 2.0 for a 1.8T. All of the literature I read indicated that it can definitely be installed yourself, especially if you've got some mechanical know-how. One of the reasons I opted not to go that route was because the gearing on the 2.0 is brutally short, so you're not getting the best use of that power and the engine will still drone like mad on the highway.

Well I think that he should look into the new Bahn Brenner kit for the 2.0L, they do some serious work and the numbers look pretty good.

The charger for the MK4 is on hold indefinitely last I heard due to space in the engine bay, and they would have to change it significantly from the MK3 layout, otherwise I would most likely have one by now.

LOL... I wish I could afford a new car Ryan. I'll be in the market again in under two years though, and I want to stay VAG.

True enough. My only concern is the fact that it's a 2000.

I have seen this car personally and can vouch for everything James has said about it. This car defines the term "Mint".

well you don't have to trade that guy i mean pick one off the lot and get it.. and then he can trade in his 2.0 for your car..

But then you will have to pay the commission to the dealer. They're not going to let me pick off the lot for nothing.
