this is on a mbz but vw system looks pretty much the same as this...
have a video of it on a phaeton (top gear...) and it shows that each side spray at different times to avoid the light from both your headlights from being "blinded" by fluid.

I think they are much faster than shown in that little video though.
They work pretty quick both of my parents Audis have them they are cool. I like in the Phaeton it does them in sequence as opposed to both lights at the same time so there is no temporary light obstruction. When Simon and I went out to BC last year PG had a MK4 GTI with them put in but we did not see it function.

I'm sure someone on here once upon a time had them bigmacf1? bighead? something like that I thought, anyway, if they are still on here they could maybe let you know what it costs.
yeah that little clip seems slow-mo'ish AFTER the spray for some reason...the actual video footage shows it being a little quicker than that with one spray as the arm goes up, a pause, and then another 2nd spray as the arm goes back in.
More than likely bigmacf1, not me. I dont know if Jettas need a different rebar, they might not. PGPerformance has the parts too, but I'm sure its more than 300 for them. The german ebay may be worth a look too, someone will have the kit on there taken from some junked vw, and it may be way cheaper.

I was just on the EU website and found out that the kit costs $350. Now, I don't think that is too bad considering all the moving parts. But, the more I see them function, the more I realize how much work it would be! Who knows, maybe I'll still look into it.
