  • Intercooler cleaning

I’m amazed how much oil found in the intercooler. It was about half full on a 250ml juice box. A trip to the car wash place and a bottle of Castrol Super Clean does the magic. By cleaning this will return back the original stage of the intercooler efficiency.

Having a CCV suck big time and why VW do not have a drain plug on the intercooler?

Cleaning it out is a good idea...

But how do you know theres no water left in there after?

This goes back to the idea of a catch can group buy which I will get around to organizing eventually.

Water still in? I have no fear on that. I gave enough time to let the thing dry. LOL I gave two hours. IMO even a little bit left is fine. Condensations do happen on every morning when you start the car, white smoke and un-burn fuel from the tail pipe.

To get the water out from there simply just drive the car hard. The water once hit the hot manifold will turn into nothing. This is like you drive your car in a very humid or rainy day, with 95% moisture in the air.

Hay Kris. Your catch can GB is cool. I like the one that have a little K&N filter on the top.
