  • Ok, am i a dufus?

There should be an easy way to change the front headlights on the driverside...of the Golf, hard to get in there compared to the passenger side...
    Mine is out...

Whenever I see an old lady slip and fall on a wet sidewalk, my first instinct is to laugh. But then I think, what if I was an ant, and she fell on me. Then it wouldn't seem quite so funny.

LOL nope no easy way unless you have really small girl hands. I jsut remove the battery box and battery and it makes life a whole lot easier.

Long, bent at the tip needlenose pliers help with the city lights, but be careful!
As for the others, I suggest sliding a shop towel down by the battery box or pulling the cuff of your shirt down over your hand when you are positioning it to get the bulbs. Helps with the redness and, frankly, pain, of getting them out.

I've done it, but I wouldn't describe it as entertainment.

There's a DIY on Vortex that involves removing the bumper cover and the headlight. I think removing the battery box is an easier idea should other attempts not work.

        All the best with it!

VW loves you to pay them to do the difficult work.

Got big hands? Remove the battery for easier access.

actually if you read your owners manual on the section about headlight bulb replacement it says 'take it to your dealer' LOL!!! although sometimes i mise as well considering last year i smashed one of the little holder rings on mine from getting angry trying to change one.. that'll teach it!

Speaking of chanigng bulbs, has anyone used the H7 Sylvannia Silverstars here? How long did they last you? I bought Osrams around Christmas last year and I am just replacing one now. Just wondering how long the Sylvannia's last in comparison.
