  • Removal the "TDI" and "Jetta" letters

Hi all, day after tomorrow is the big day! Pickin up the Jetta!! A couple quick questions:

    1) What is the best way to remove the "TDI" and "Jetta" badging off the trunk?

    2) What is your opinions about doing it? (IE: it'll look good, it'll look crappy etc...)

    Look forward to your suggestions!

debadging looks good.. the emblems just trap dirt, etc under them

to remove on a new car simply take goo gone and dental floss. spray some goo gone around the emblem and let it soak in them work the floss underneath the letters and they'll pop off then use goo gone on a rag to remove the excess gluey crap

then wash with water/soap and wax the area

I did this to mine and i can still slightly see the word jetta, and the letters TDI. Does any one else have this problem? or is there any other way of getting rid of this, other then respraying my trunk? Thanks in advance

If you rub at the glue too much it will scratch the paint. Use some 3M polish, its not a wax, it removes scratches instead of hiding them like wax.

I also used a blowdrier to heat the glue, then removed it with the floss. Less goo-gone/whatever needed IMO.

                  2)........

It will look like you have a 2.0 with some badge engineering. And one more possibility for the gas station hooligans put gasoline instead of diesel in the tank if you need their services.
