    Re: Tunning A TDI

I would love to see these chips in action so if its possible to set something up before tuesday let me know. Sunday I will be at Sunshine though snow boarding, and likely wont be able to meet up at the meeting Tuesday because I have to head back up North but hopefully we can figure something out

We met with Chris (JettaSport) on Monday at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary where he drove the test car. On Tuesday Chris came over to Concept1 where he purchased and had the module installed. We did some G-Tech runs which show Net Horsepower and Torque. These are the figures with his car.

Was that an automatic or a standard? How much is it to buy and have installed?

To bad we don't have numbers from a chip to compare to as of yet...

The first PD is getting chipped on Monday ... again resisting the comparison of tuning box vs. chip. They are very different solutions with very different results.

so the chip would be a better option for sure then? this will be one of my 1st mods to my new tdi once i get it. can you let us know the results of how the 1st PD chip goes on Monday.

Well with a box you are taking the existing signals and modifinging them to trick the ecu, with a chip you are changing the mapping and the way the ecu handles all the parameters it recieves. I will let you guess which one I think is safer to use.

The GVW on the drivers door jam says 1810 kg
                            1810 X 2.2 = 3982 LBS
