  • Tinting in Edmonton

Hey all, well this is my first thread! Just wondering if anyone can advise where the best place to get tint done in Edmonton? Picking up our new (still old style) 2005 Black Jett TDI in Calgary next week and bringing her back to Edmonton. Thanks for all your help!

congrats on the car.. if yoru buying it from a dealer phne them up now and ask them to tint the windows for you.. it will cost a bit more but you'll have it done right off the bat get 30% all around (7windows)

      Ryan,

Thanks for the heads up. I was just wondering if you know where I can actually find out what 30's would look like. I don't wanna go to dark on the front and have to worry about the coppers and also don't wanna go too light on the back 5....... I'm pickin it up from Northland next thursday....
I currently have a 03 Dodge Ram (sorry for putting a domestic on the forum) and I find the tint to be too light on the back windows. The g-friend has really dark on her lude and that's too dark...kinda want to be in the middle.....
      Thanks...

      Scott

Match it all round. The cops barely ever hassle people. If you decide to do it lighter just do it lighter everywhere...

We only have a small Edmonton chapter so advice may be slow coming.

I've never used them, but I've heard good things about European Auto Tinting here in Edmonton.

i've got mine done at ziebart. lifetime warranty on the tint and if you pay cash, they'll give you a deal. plus they're way cheaper than the dealership.

i'm actually dissapointed mine was tinted from the dealer and its peeling in 2 places and it has a couple scrathes and chips on the side windows. i'm just upset cause i've only think i've ever had ppl in the back seat like 5 times since owning the car. and the tint is screwed up now

If I could go back in time, I'd get 20% all around. The 35% I got now doesn't seem to cut it anymore

I got my windows tinted at European Auto Tinting, located 56ave and 104st. They do all the tinting for Southgate VW (not sure about Norden).

This place is highly recommended by a lot of people here in town, and Southgate VW hands over all their tinting to that place (so it's gotta be good ) I got 5 windows tinted in my Golf about two years ago, and I don't remember exactly but it had to be something like 200-240. But best give them a try and see what they quote you at.

But I was very impressed with their service, big thumbs up!

Edit - And paying cash will certainly save you a few bucks

Edit - This place is in Edmonton

Hi all! Wow....some quick feedback....lovin newveedub!!! Kay, I think that we are actually gonna go ahead and have Northland get the windows tinted for us (only gonna do the back 5 .......as the fiance is basically gonna be driving it all the time). Anyone get tint done there before? and are you happy with it?......Just makes things easier that we can go and pick it up and it's done.....

I got it done at NL when I first bought the my car. Looks OK to me. I haven't noticed any bubbles and such.

If you do get your windows tinted at NL, can you get the name and # of the dude that actually is doing the tinting. I'm thinking of getting my front 2 tinted and I think that going back to the same guy will ensure that all windows match.

                          Thx.

I have an 04 jetta. I got my tinting done at a place in Red Deer called Details window tinting. It cost $200 for 7 windows (dealer cost). He used a new teflon window tint that won't fade. I went with 5% on the rear and 20% on the pass and drivers windows. It's quite dark but have no problems seeing at night. I figured that there are so may windows and they're so big that 35% wasn't enough for the side windows. But I like it dark!

1.8Trip...I'll try and find out who is actually doing the tint for our car at Northland. We're gonna go with 20% on the back 5 windows. Do you remember what they charged you for tinting?

The only mod we're gonna do on our new baby is we're gonna get tinted side bumper markers......then once she is paid off.....rear sway bar....chip...NEW RIMS fo sho...
