So... new VR6 clutch and Autotech 10lb flywheel go in on thrusday.

Should be interesting... I'm still unsure about the 10pound flywheel because I've heard its too light according to some people onthe vortex.

Concept1, the clutch is good for upto 275hp

The price is like $800 CAD for the clutch and flywheel, can't remember if its with the discount, i think it is (10%).

      Concept1 is the best!!!

Sometimes you don't want too light of a fly wheel. From what I can think, you may get some drivability problems but I don't think you will with a VR6 wheel. Also, heavier flywheels can help drag launchs as well as help keep boost spooled between shifts and you will loose less engine speed with a heavier flywheel.

I think that these 1.8t's have quite a heavy flywheel by the way the rpms drop at a slower rate than I've seen some cars do between shifts. This is done on a lot of newer cars because it aids in emmissions by prolonging light-off of bad stuff.

soon, soon it will be installed. I have to go to stupid Indiana this week so I had to put off the clutch kit (money issues).

Any other suggestions as to what may be a better choice for clutch/flywheel?

make sure you mark the TDC (top dead centre) from the old flywheel onto the new one, otherwise you will have big problems. i read this somewhere. in a week autotech will be making kits with this mark already. somehow it messes up after a few thousand k's.

it is great... the throttle response just amazing... it is very helpful when you go roadracing on a track.

What does it mean??? I have about 20000K on my autoteh clutch and flywheel and I ahve never had a problem with it.

BTW, THE CLUTCH AND FLYWHEEL ARE AWESOME! REVS NICER. BETTER DRIVING ALL AROUND. AND ITS NOT TOO LIGHT AT ALL. ITS THE WAY A CAR SHOULD BE. CRISP.

Yeah, programming as always! sorry about that, i just simply forget.

So yeah, after driving a little more, I've really begun to notice the weight difference. between sifts the revs drop a lot quicker... which means I've got to A) shift faster or B) get a SS kit from C1

I like the SS idea!!! haha, it truly NEVER ends.

Oh yeah, the car seems to have a better top mid-range with a lightened flywheel.
