  • GIAC's new "X-Chip"! Thoughts? Reviews?

where did you find out about this chip? I went to the GIAC website... I was looking if they have a chip for the 24v.

Has anyone heard about any reversable chips? I know with my old BMW (OBDII) Turner motorsports made a chip with an injector (shark injector) that could be programmed and de-programmed at will. This way no dealer finds out Does something like this exist for VW? I can't afford to void my warranty....

I think that the closest thing to what you are looking for is an APR chip. These chips give you the ability to switch between porgrams, and return to stock mode for dealer visits. If they ever found it you would be done, but your chances are better...

Life's too short to worry about Leo voiding your warranty, etc! LOL

      Cheers!

I wish I could think that way. But going to Uni and having very little $$ kinda changes the perspective

Garrett also enables a stock switch to be added to the newly encrypted chip. Therefore you can switch back to stock with GIAC as well. You'll have to crack open the OBD unit though (until they get their RF idea working).

Peter, would you mind me asking what kind of a good deal your buddy is getting you? I ask because I am thinking about getting chipped as well.
