So, unfortunate incident, I was changing off the rims for the 15's today, had a friend helping me, and he managed to lay one face down (accidentally) on the road.............well, kinda dropped it......so it chipped a bunch of silver paint off the spokes, so now I have to get that wheel redone.....I'm not convinced of AWR's work yet, with all the problems or quirks everyone else has had with them, is there any other place that would be recommended?? It needs nothing more than to be sanded and painted, so would a body shop do that??? Anyhow, that was my crappy day.....

Re: Alberta wheel repair (already??)
AWR is the best game in town. Don't be a dick and you'll most likely be happy. 80 bucks a wheel to have them straightened out for me, and Santos had a few choice words about some other car forum guys (not us I believe).

While I was waiting, I also watched him offer to redo all 4 wheels because the shade of gunmetal was off. They were freaking mint but not exactly what the customer asked for. That's all I needed to see.

Re: Alberta wheel repair (already??)
I haven't heard back about my wheels yet. Last Tuesday was a week (the estimated time of completion) and while the receptionists were nice, my calls weren't returned so I don't know what the status of my wheels is. Fortunately I'm not in a huge rush since winter is on its way back. I found Santo to be a really nice guy though, who took his time showing me everything. I'll call again this Tuesday and see what's up and also report in on the quality when I get them back.Yuval

Re: Alberta wheel repair (already??)
I took one of my wheels there on my ol' 2.0 and they had it done in just over a week and it looked great. THey did however quote me 4 days to do it (I needed it in a rush) and it turned out to be about 9 days.
But good quality and the price isnt bad.Simon

A little off topic here but Simon I was up at SAIT last week and saw an ad for your old car for sale..
Back to the wheel repair I think they key is making them know exactly how you want things done and then being patient.Blair

Re: Alberta wheel repair (already??)
Well I don't think AWR is the only game in town anymore. last week I saw this guy with a new SiR jacked up in our work parking lot. He was refinishing the wheels while the guy worked! He has a small trailer and does everything on site. I don't know who the owner of the SiR is otherwise I'd ask how he liked them. Anyway, I couldn't get a card or anything (he was inside the trialer) but I got the website. It looks like it's a franchise thing.

That should be it, you can find the Calgary guy in there somewhere.Jay
