well, I'm not sure... this device forces higher boost... i'm shocked the car doesn't go into Limp Mode, but if it doesn't do that maybe it also knows enough to change fuel mixture as well.
See, does the ECU calculate fuel mixture based on requested or on actual boost? Does anyone know EXACTLY how the mixture is decided? I think its based on actual boost...
I think anyone thats going to try this should buy a 4 or 5 bar FPR and install it before testing... I also have a Vag-Com so we can measure the injector timing as a before and after the Dawes Device install... if the injector timing (ms) is greater after installing and making more boost with Dawes, then we know the car is at least deciding mixture on actual boost, not requested.

I think that the MAF and MAP sensors detect the extra air and adjust the AF ratio accordingly. Its hard to say for sure, as the SSBC lies to the ecu about how much boost is being made to prevent limp mode.
I still think with the MBC it will be possible to steal a couple of PSI, but i agree with Sean. I would want to have a VAG handy to do some before/after logging to see exactly what is happening. The only thing that really scares me is the car leaning out.TDI SportWagen

The ECU should see the little bit of extra boost and compensate by adjusting the fuel pressure to an extent. If the boost goes beyond the programmed limits, it will protect itself and go into limp.
The SSBC will just give the computer different signals so it will add the extra fuel and timing with it seeing the boost. The computer may be tricked into thing it's at a different altitude or warmer/colder air temps. That's how they get around the limp modes. The reason Split Sec says they limit the controller to 14.5psi is because they say thats the limit of the stock fuel system. Perhaps injectors/fuel pump or regulator upgrades will help in this regard but for the most part, I still thing that these turbos are too small to really take advantage of higher boost levels. As efficient as they are, you'll just be pushing heat at anything higher than 15 pounds. Someone needs to make a t3/t4 hybrid bolt on kit for these cars. Hey Guys!
Sorry I didn't know the board was back up but here I am to anwser some of the questions.
First off, it's works more like the N75 valve itself. It has a spring inside of it holding a ball bearing type piece into the hole of the nozzel. (I guess a bleeder?) The N75 is a solinod type dealy..
It "acts" as the N75 valve, that's why you don't pop a CEL when it's not working. You do pop the code but it doesn't phiscally see a problem with the car so no limp mode..
Second, I had upsolute write a program for 1.5 Bar worth of fuel, so that fueling isn't an issue, but I wouldn't try it without the K04 programming from Upsolute (which doesn't UP boost on AWW just fueling) or else you have a possible chance of pinging.
Upsolute (and many other companys) have problems due to the VCT on the AWW's / AWP's thats why you don't see K04 AWW programs out there. Upsolute did the custom program but couldn't do the boost so I did the boost myself.
Try this at your own risk! The outcome is awesome, but I wouldn't do it with a K03 or without the right fueling. If you do wish to do it, get your fueling up, change your injectors or add a 4bar fuel pressure regulator!

BTW, I didn't get limp mode with this setup at all, beacuse I totally disconnected the N75 valve, but left it connected to the intake piping, I hooked up the MBC after the N75 valve so it would still pass threw the valve. When you disconnect the N75 it always stays open.
