Re: So any interest on a group skidplate purchase?
Aaaaaanyways...
Neil, thanks for the reply. I'd probably get a new side guard just to be sure if it's only $35. For now, I'm still waiting to see who else might be interested. Cheers.
Re: So any interest on a group skidplate purchase?
You read my mind. I am currently testing a skid plate on a 99 Golf3.
Once I am happy with the results I will make sure it fits on the Jetta3 before I start to sell them.
Keep an eye out on my site.

Re: So any interest on a group skidplate purchase?
I might be interested in purchasing a skid plate, but winters almost over so I'd prefer to wait until September or so. I'll take my chances with run of the mill pot holes, it the damn ice/ruts that I'm worried about.
Re: So any interest on a group skidplate purchase?
Honestly I find it worse in the summer, as the ice/snow packs the holes in, and rough edges are smoother. Also, all the new construction starting...
The warden has approved the purchase, subject to a decent deal, so I'll be in for a 3/18 diamond plate guard with hole. I'm not sure I even have those side shields - do they actually do much?

Really they just keep mos tof the dirt out. On the passenger side though I think they protect the serpentine belt from rocks that maybe thrown in there by the wheel.

So did this group buy ever go through....if not I would be interested, I just ripped my stock plastic skid plate off and with my good luck my oil pan is sure to go.....soon!

Mines saved me from some damage in the rogerspass this weekend. Well worht the money. I hit a huge chunk of ice or something and it make a terrible sound, then I turned to the wife and said "well that skid plate just paid for itself".
