Whenever I see an old lady slip and fall on a wet sidewalk, my first instinct is to laugh. But then I think, what if I was an ant, and she fell on me. Then it wouldn't seem quite so funny.

My rear tint is so dark I never see any smoke behind me LOL. If you went .216's turbo better be the next upgrade or you are just wasting fuel. I think I am going to go .206 nozzels from Smog in montreal sometime soon, they are not to badly priced at $150 shipped.

Re: New Nozzles in the Tdi.....

just like i said in another post, you need more air to burn that fuel! ie: bigger turbo... there's no point getting .216's unless you get a bigger turbo, they wont give you much more power over .205's.

and a little tidbit of info: there are different versions of .216's, the earlier years apparently are real .216 holes, the later years, are actually .203 or something smaller, but the design of the injector body results in the same amount of spray, so if i were you, i would have measured the sizes of your holes just to make sure.

Supposedly some company now makes a throttle-based nitrous system that will work on a VW, it uses very small amounts of nitrous but works on a daily driver. Except that you have to refill the bottle every so often. I think I saw it on Vortex somewhere.

Actually both would be best. The nitrous part of nitrous oxide is useless but the oxygen helps to burn the fuel cleaner etc, it really helps keep the smoke down with propane. Bart is right about the air part but there are ways to get around it by adjusting the IQ so there is less fuel. I think it is a little hard to measure nozel holes accuritly without special tools. I am sure if you bought them from Kerma that they will be .216's. You can find VNT-17 turbos on german ebay all the time for about $500 used of course. There is even a guy on the TID club that will recieve your package for you and reship it if the seller will not ship overseas.
