  • Headlight Questions

I'm sure someone on here has installed new headlights in an '04 Golf before.. How easy is it to do? Looks fairly simple in the DIYs I've seen but just looking for an opinion.

On the same note, does anyone have any experience with the FK projectors that are at Concept1? (http://www.concept1.ca/images/FK%20G...0BLK%20MOD.jpg) not sure if that link will work, but they are the R32 look projectors with single angle eye. Hows the quality on them? Worth $450? Thanks.

It's a fairly easy procedure if your mechanically inclined. You will have to remove the front bumper skin. I think the projectors are worth it.

The quality is pretty good but the projectors are a PITA too align. I custom wired my fogs and angel eyes to my euro switch so it is totally free of any extra switches. One warning is that the lense is glass so you should get a thick protecting film asap. If you want to take a look at them come out to the next meet (this thurs).

Thanks for the replys. I suppose I'm decently mechnicly inclined (but spelling challanged). I'm more worried about taking things off and not knowing how to but them back on!

How do the angel eyes work on those lights.. with a euro switch I have the driving lights on (the little bulb under the high beam, think thats what its called) in the one position, will the angel eye come on with that one or is completely seperate?

Nobody has done this... Jettas that you see with no chrome are probably just 2003 and earlier, when VW did not put chrome on the Jetta.

If you want to get rid of it, best thing might be to swap the chrome parts with someone who wants it (would be free solution).

I wired them so the angels come one with the first pulled out position and fogs and angels come on with the second (I also added the led for that) Normally the first position is for fog and the second is rear fog.

                          Re: Headlight Questions

nope.. took 1 day total because you have to let the paint dry and i used glad press and seal to cover the parts i didn't want painted and a utility knife to remove the excess stuff.. i would recommend buying a spare set of lights though just in case you pooch something..

i bought a used set of stock headlights off vortex for 50bucksUS shipped here and they were 3 months old from florida so no rock chips

edit.. i put mine in the oven to take them apart 2 minutes a 300 worked like a charm.. same method to put them back together..

i had napa mix me a can of spray paint based on my paint code cost was like 15 bucks
