  • Severe Missfire!

    Uggh, here we go again..
The first time it was the coilpack boots, but this one is way worse. I havent been able to hook it up to the VAG yet, but anything past half throttle (if that) missifres heavily.
All I am thinking is Coilpacks...with a slight possibility of spark plugs, since they havent been replaced for a while, and I was told about every four Oil changes or so with mine...
    Any Help???

    Re: Severe Missfire!

So here are the codes I threw:
    16684
    16685
    16686
    16688

it was heavily missfiring in Cylinder 4, so I switched the coilpack and boot, and initially it caused cylinder one to missfire, but then four started up again under wot.....Im guessing this means sparkplugs? (that would be a nice cheap fix!)
    oh, Im stage 3 btw!

            Re: Severe Missfire!

            Well, here's an update....
Replaced my spark plugs (IK22's) and it got a lot better (now only missfires at 10+psi range, but still missfires. I havent hooked it up to the VAG since the change, but will let you know when I do!

            Any ideas?

On a side note, how much are coilpacks these days?

              Re: Severe Missfire!

Try to drop the gap on your plugs down to .28 or even .25..that should help you

                Re: Severe Missfire!

Well after giving it about an hour after the first test run with the new plugs, and hooking up the VAG, everything ran PERFECTLY! No missifres whatsoever!not sure why it didnt the first time, but everything is back to, and better then normal! Best $70 spent yet! (well maybe not but......)
