  • UPS Damage

Well a box came from UPS today, but my goods are slightly damaged.

Does anyone think its worthwhile to pursue UPS for damages? How difficult is the procedure? Maybe you guys can give me some advice? The box is clearly abused around the damaged section.

Sucky! I'd definiely pursue UPS. There's no way it would have been damaged like that before it was shipped.

I say take them for all they are worth! Did I mention how much I hate UPS? They even had the balls to charge me $20 for a free sample, send me a bill which I didn't pay, then phone me asking if it was a sample and reply ok, then proceed to take me to collections! I phoned customs and they said there was nothing they could do and that they fought UPS getting there own brokerage but lost, so I just apyed it and laughed as collections took most of it.

Where was that coming from? Was it insured by the shop you purchased? AFAIK UPS do apply the minimum coverage on the goods that’s declared the amount before ship.

Coming from Washington, US. It wasn't insured but I agree I think there is some minimum coverage? I filled out a form on their website as per their customer service.

Maybe there is a general number to phone and ask? I would be pursuing it too!

UPS, in the words of Jay from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, are ball lickers. If I can't say that on here, replace balls with bunghole, butt, or what have you. I've done business with them twice, both times because the American merchants I dealt with wouldn't go with another carrier.

The first item, a camera flash, was cracked and the LCD was toast. This was no fly weight flash . . . a pro model made of ABS plastic packed in the factory styrofoam. I've dropped a similar model from more than 10 feet in the air - don't ask - and it didn't break. Not only was the item crushed, they had the stones to charge me some arbitrary border fee. It took me two straight weeks of calling them and showing up at their office to get them to replace it (that's with insurance).

The second item was just a stupid cell phone charger/car kit. . . the item was undamaged, but I was hit with that border fee again.

Their corporate colour is brown because they're full of sh|t (Mexican food style) Get a sturdy pair of rubber boots and dig in! Good luck.

In order to have bent this intercooler, they must have literally run it over. If I hit it with a metal hammer it would not dent like this, its solid.

I have to agree with that, I bet they dropped it off the plane. Thick alum is very very hard to roll over like that.

If you look, you can see only the outside row is bent, so its pretty unlikely that there are any leaks. Only the inside rows matter.

Bending it again might make it crack, so better to just leave it.
